Our English workshops will focus on Writing and Reading for the next seven weeks. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we'll be learning skills to prepare us to write our own stories (creative writing.) Friday will be our reading day.

Writing Skills - depending on the students' needs we will look at:
- genre;
- creating better sentences;
- building characters; and
- plot (e.g. conflict/resolution, pick a path).

Reading -on Fridays we'll bring our books to read in class and I may read some books aloud. In addition, we'll look at reading skills such as comprehension, inference... Each student will create a reading log to encourage regular reading.

Note that depending on the weather and student interest, I'll take students to the Upper Riccarton Library on occasional Fridays.
