In our wheels inquiry we wanted to learn about wheels, how they work, and what sort of things use wheels.

We had lots of great ideas and learnt a lot of things about wheels and how they work.

Near the end of our inquiry we decided that it would be a great idea to re-develop our school bike track, which lots of students in our school didn't know was really a bike track!

We watched lots of videos about bike tracks, and explored the web page of Bikes In Schools. Their page had lots of information and videos about bike tracks and why it was a good idea to have bikes in school.

Some students decided they would like to make a toy with wheels and followed a design process.

They spent lots of time looking at different types of toys that were similar to what we wanted to make, and drew our ideas.

We then looked at some real design drawings and drew a design plan showing how to put together our toy. This was pretty tricky for everyone, so we decided that making a cardboard version was a way to help us work out what we would need. We then made a final plan, and a list of things we would need to make our toy.
