This term is all about using algebra to explore the unknown and solve our problems!

This course will suit students who are planning to take an NCEA Level 1 maths course next year. It will suit students who are either in the second year of Level 5 maths or are only planning to complete one year of Level 5 maths before continuing to Level 6 maths.

Algebra is a tool and a skill we use in math to solve problems with unknown values. People use algebra to do everything from economic predictions to programming computers to sending rockets to space. We will build our kete of algebraic skills in this class to work towards progressing through Level 5 towards Level 6 maths.

Students will need a maths book, preferably a quad-printed book, like a 1E5.
