This term we'll investigate algebraic patterns and how they can be represented graphically.

We'll look at how formuale work and how we can form them to extend patterns and solve equations. This will lead us to linear equations and their practical applications.

In the first three weeks of term four we'll look at geometry - the study of angles, shapes and tessaltaions. If things are going well we may squeeze in some trigonometry.

It is expected that rangatahi taking this class will have a squared maths book, a pen, a ruler, and a scientific or graphics calculator. It is further required that students taking this class know their times tables (1-10) or a making a good effort to learn them. There are lots of resources to help with learning times tables online. Here is one you could use: https://www.mathsisfun.com/tables.html Derek is planning on testing times tables.
