For term 2 this art class focus is on drawing and painting.

We will be investigating composition and considering the placement of objects on a page. We will be using different materials to make marks and learn how to apply a range of tone in a drawing study. There will also be an opportunity for students to learn and practice some of the design principles we have touched on in term 1.

These skills will then be used as we move on to painting, with the aim of learning and practicing new skills like colour mixing, tinting and toning and overpainting and then creating a painted artwork for a class exhibition.

We hope to be able to have some working artists visit the class and we will be going to see art at the gallery and in other spaces.

Students require motivation, ideas and organisation for this course. You will be expected to carefully consider your own and others work and be involved an a collaborative project. This class requires a lot of sharing of resources and cleaning up.

Outcomes: 
Students will apply a range of tone in a drawing study
students will show consideration in placement of objects on page
students will mix paints with control to produce a range of tones or hues
students will be organised and respectful in this class.
