In this course, we will study a range of texts (written and film) through the lens of English. In doing so, we'll explore ideas relating to media, psychology and other subject areas before undertaking assessments.

After engaging in a text study, students will be given the opportunity to complete an assessment of their choice. All English standards and a few Media standards will be on offer, and students will be encouraged to choose options that align with their interests and are at the levels of NCEA they are most suited to.

There will be a strict no devices rule in this class, unless specifically required, so please make sure you're able to manage yourself with this in mind. You'll be expected to engage in discussions and share your thoughts. If you absolutely must be on TikTok/Instagram/taking selfies, then this is not the class for you!
