Biology (the study of life and living things) will be our topic of study in term 3. We will learn about genetics (and how this forms the basis of heredity and evolution) in preparation for the external assessment. We will spend some time learning about microorganisms (fungi, bacteria and viruses) and there will be the option of an internal assessment either investigating a biological issue or demonstrating understanding of microorganisms.
AS90948 Demonstrate understanding of biological ideas relating to genetic variation (external, 4 credits, literacy)
AS90926 Report on a biological issue (internal, 3 credits, literacy)
AS90950 Investigate biological ideas relating to interactions between humans and micro-organisms (internal, 4 credits, literacy)

Reassessments may be available for internals covered earlier in the year. We will also revise Chemistry and Physics topics covered earlier in the year in preparation for external exams in November.
