MEASUREMENT -
this topic builds on the skills learnt in previous years - metric conversions, perimeters, areas and volumes. The emphasis is on solving problems in a real life context that require more than one step.
It is assessed by a 3 credit internal.
CHANCE and DATA
Covers the study of the following -
PROBABILITY
Probability is the branch of mathematics that deals with predicting how likely events are to happen. We will study experimental and theoretical probability.
STATISTICS after the completion of the Probability topic.
You will learn how to interpret and evaluate information presented in statistical investigations, reports and graphs.
The assessment is an external exam.
A scientific or graphics calculator and a quad book are essential.
