In this Red Block course we will be learning how to create a short claymation video. The objectives will include, story and character generation, making backgrounds, filming and editing and everything to do with making little characters out of clay - or similar - and using them in a movie.

You will need to purchase your own plasticine or a movable medium suitable for modelling. You can get plasticine or modelling clay from the Warehouse at South City or Spotlight and other places for under $15. (If you want to make lots of characters or models, you may need to purchase more.) We might also have a go at making our own modelling clay. We will also be making backgrounds and props, so start collecting materials and thinking of ideas for your short film. Shoe and other sturdy boxes are great for claymation.

If you have your own iPad that would be ideal, otherwise we will be using school iPads.

This course is suitable for beginners and serious claymation makers alike. If you do have expertise, expect to be helping others. The number of students in this class will be determined by availability of iPads.
