Each lesson we'll sample a new Christchurch bike path, improving our fitness and knowledge of our local area. Addressing climate change will be the major challenge of foreseeable generations. Learning to use transport that doesn't emit climate changing gases is one way we can address this.

We'll try to stay off the roads as much as possible, but you will need to know how to be sensible on roads.

We'll also learn about road rules and if there's interest this could go as far as preparing for a learners driving licence. (Clearly only the theory as that's all that's required for a learners licence.)

A mechanically sound bike, helmet, appropriate clothing and preferably gloves will also be required.

Parents are welcome to come on the rides and it may be useful to split into smaller groups. Please contact me should you want to help: gregory.oneill@aotawhiti.school.nz
