Term 3 Level 4 Mathematics and Algebra

This class is for students working within Level 4.
We will be learning the basic principles of algebra including how to find the mean, median and mode in data sets. We will also use a range of additive and multiplicative strategies with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages to solve number problems, building on existing knowledge to extend our learning as we move through the level. We will also revise material covered in Term 1 and 2.
Students will need a Math book (1H5), pencil, rubber, ruler and other own stationery, including a glue stick.
Specific Objectives for Term 3:
Equations and expressions
Form and solve simple linear equations.
Use graphs, tables, and rules to describe linear relationships found in number and spatial patterns.
Number strategies and knowledge
Use a range of multiplicative strategies when operating on whole numbers.
Understand addition and subtraction of fractions, decimals, and integers.
