This course is designed for students wanting to complete NCEA standards in music, or for experienced musicians wanting to launch into a music career. We will be studying a huge range of music and looking at essential skills for the music industry. Among other things we will be looking at advanced music theory, developing practical skills, ear training, sight-reading and much more. You will need an instrument (unless you are majoring in vocals or piano) and a device for accessing online resources. It is highly recommended that students working at this level are also taking private lessons – either through the school itinerant scheme or otherwise.
This term we will be focusing on composition, arranging and solo performance.
