In this course we will investigate the genetics behind inheritance and the importance of genetic variation in a species. We will learn about DNA and chromosomes and how these are copied and passed down to the next generation. WE will answer questions like "How can two brown-eyed parents produce a blue-eyed child?" and "Why do you look a bit like your dad and a bit like your mum?"

This course will cover the work required to complete the external AS90948 (4 credits).

Near the end of the term we will start the microorganisms internal AS90950 (4 credits). We will finish this assessment at the start of term 3.
