HB Moana Play Provocations

In response to the needs of the children I have changed the approach I am using with students in HB Moana. Many of the students are still developing "ready for school behaviours" and are not yet ready to engage in more formal whole class learning workshops. We will therefore be working with play provocations from week 6, Term 1 onwards, with small groups of children, who show readiness, participating in guided reading sessions and fast words sessions.

Play provocations will be based on children's Big Questions and will extend on the short sessions we have investigating these concepts.

These play provocations will link with curriculum subject areas, however the main focus for learning revolves around the key competencies.

As our core values link well with this part of the curriculum the learning objectives will reflect these.
