We are going on an overnight tramp to learn about the fundamental skills needed for tramping. We will learn how to stay safe in the wilderness and practice working together. We will be learning about the New Zealand bush and some native plants and animals.
We will tramp into the Manson Nicholls hut at Lake Daniells. The tramp is about 4 hours of walking and we will be carrying all of tour food and gear in packs.
We will be reading the map to see where we are. We will spend a night in the hut.
On the second day we will tramp out to the cars, travel to Hanmer Springs and have another night away from home. We will visit the hot pools, have fish and chips and have some fun exploring Hanmer before we drive back to school.

To Do List:
Pack our bags from the gear list.
Walk for hours carrying a heavy pack
Remember the safety rules for being in the bush
Work together to get everyone safely to the hut and back again
Manage our selves and our relationships while away from home
