The pursuit of speed and accuracy through fencing.

“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." - Fencing

*Limited to 20 students*

Are you keen to experience something different? Test your reactions. Work on your speed and accuracy. Defeat your enemies in a duel to the death! Actually, it won’t or shouldn’t go that far but you can pretend. The traditional art of duelling with a sword is what I am talking about. Split second decisions and tactical moves make up the Olympic sport of fencing. Discover a new sport provided by expert coaching at The Fencing Institute in Addington.

We will be taking the bus from St Asaph Street. For both the middle and afternoon blocks you will need to meet me at the start of morning tea and lunch times at the base of the stairs for the roll and to move to the bus stop in a timely manner. You will need to have your bus card.

The first few sessions will be at school learning with the plastic swords. Once students are more advanced we will bus and walk to Addington and The Fencing Institute to use the metal swords and safety equipment. This will be communicated session to session, week to week as to when this will happen. Dressing the safety gear on and off takes time and will take up most of our time along with the bus ride to and from the location. Being punctual, organised and listening is very important in this regard.

Students need to know:
- They need to turn up on time (below times when going by bus)
- They need to be part of all sessions (sickness not taken into account here).
- They can not pull out once they have started.
- If they start and then do not continue they will be charged the fee of the course ($35).
- They need a bus card ready for the day.
- They need a mask for Covid public transport.

These are the dates and times for transport. Sessions being held at school will be normal colour block times. The three sessions will always be at school.
