Writing in the Nest

Establish a writing routine in the home base which includes:
Modelling. Write together in the modelling book before each session. Focus on; drawing a picture, telling my story, writing my name, where to begin, finger spaces between words, writing the sounds we hear, using a full stop, high frequency words.
Equipment. Children know where to find their books, pencils, date stamp, alphabet card and seat.
Writing using different mediums; outside with chalk, crayon on cardboard, iPad, whiteboards etc...

Learning Outcomes : Children will learn some processes and strategies for writing, They will understand that writing is for and audience, writing contains ideas.

Assessment Opportunities: Daily and through group work and individual assessment. Entry and 3 month testing.
