3.1 Level 3 Literacy

This course is a continuation of the work begun in Term 1 and 2, where students learn about the links between reading and writing. There will be explicit teaching of how to make a great piece of writing using known, practiced and newly learned strategies. Our focus is on writing skills, such as organisation, words and editing and reading for understanding and comprehension.
We will again be visiting Tūranga regularly during the Term, to take our learning out of the school and make the most of our wonderful city library.
Students will be working independently and collaboratively during these sessions.
This class is aimed at students working within Level 3 literacy and moving toward Level 4. Students need to bring a writing book, their own writing materials and a glue stick.
