Senior Production Part 1
Term 3 means it is time for the Senior Production. This year the play is Passengers by NZ playwright Fiona Farrell. It is the story of working class women, travelling on an immigrant ship from England to New Zealand.
Created from actual records of the time, the play gives an insight into the extreme conditions on board the ship and the relationships formed, as these assisted immigrants headed for a brighter future.
Most of them were leaving domestic service in the hope of a new life. Some were running away, others believed they had a calling. During the 130 days on the ship we get to know these young women and learn about their pasts and their dreams for the future.
Actors, it is time to shake your tail feathers. This play will also form the backbone of setting you up for the external exam. Designers and directors you can support the production of this project.
This course is aimed at supporting NCEA students for assessment connected to their performance or for production technology credits.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Auditions will happen at the end of 2.2 so that everyone can take their scripts away during the holidays. If you are not currently in Drama and want to join this class in 3.1 please contact Alister to organise your audition.
You will need to choose this in 3.1 and 3.2
And you will need to commit to some out of class rehearsals in 3.2 and expect we may call tech rehearsals in the last week / weekend of 3.2
