MEASUREMENT contd / ALGEBRA
Following the Measurement assessment we will begin Algebra.
A measurement is a number that shows the size or amount of something.
In this topic you will be studying everyday measurements such as length, mass, volume, perimeter, and area and applying these in the solution of problems involving real life situations.
Assessment - 3 credit internal
Algebra which covers the following topics -
Simplifying, expanding, fractions, exponents, substitution, factorising, rearranging and solving linear, quadratic, exponential and simultaneous equations.
ALGEBRA is assessed by an NZQA - no calculator/technology - 1 hour skills test -Tuesday September 15 th This is the MCAT external assessment AS 91027 – Apply algebraic procedures in solving problems – 4 credits.
