Students will work to understand the needs of insects of NZ and the important part they play in the world.
Students will then work to find ways to ensure the ongoing well being of insects. This includes making insect houses, water stations, butterfly gardens.

We will work with Maria the Butterfly Musketeers to take on the care of the nearby Monarch Butterfly house. Participate in one of her inspirational talks.
Visit a bee apiary and see how honey is formed.
Visit Travis wetlands and work with the CCC on the finding and cataloging of insect life in waterways.
Create our own monarch garden at school.
Create insect houses from found supplies with trips to a forest.
Create a maggot nest.
Create water stations from orange peels with honey water.
Create butterfly and bee life cycles.
