2020 Term 1 Problem solving maths Orientation/Position
Students will explore problem solving skills that use symbols, diagrams, words and numbers to explore and express ideas in position and orientation for 5 weeks.
Students will be able to create and use simple maps to show position and direction.
Students will be able to describe different views and pathways from locations on a map.
Students will understand left from right, compass points, and simple directions.
We intend to create pirate maps in the hb, then move into mapping real world situations outside of the classroom.
Beth and I will alternate HBs to share planning opportunities and will plan on one document weekly.
