Chemical reactions: we know they're happening all around us. But chemical reactions aren't all the same!
We will investigate (which will include some practicals and recording of experimental
observations) a few main types of chemical reactions: combination/synthesis reactions, decomposition reactions, and single- and double-displacement reactions. By the end of this unit, you will be expected to have learned how to:
- classify chemical reactions from experimental observations and/or equations
- write word equations and balanced symbol equations
- predict the formation of a precipitate using solubility rules
- provide explanations that use chemistry vocabulary, symbols and conventions (including names and formulae)

Through completing this unit, students will be prepared for an internal assessment worth 4 credits (AS90947).
