1.1 The hopefulness of drawing
This course runs for all of term one and is designed to show you different ways of how to draw.
Fun inspiring question part of descriptor:
Did you know everyone can draw? Even snails...
Did you know that drawing is just thinking outside of your brain?
Did you know that all art forms use drawing as a way of moving ideas around and this skill can help change happen for those big problems we all have?
Did you know the second most expensive drawing ever sold for 200 million dollars and was made by flinging paint at a board? (Jackson Pollock's drawing 'Number 17A')
What we will try and do together part of this descriptor:
Every two weeks or so, depending on where you are at, we will look at another way to draw.
You will find out how to use different drawing tools, how to draw from real life, how to draw in new ways from your imagination, find out how drawing can to help you focus your ideas and more. We will look at how other people have drawn things, how you can use drawing to meditate and refocus if you are having a bad day or just to figure out how to make machines that collect sea water and turn it into electricity...and more!
At the end of the term you will have at least 5 finished drawings and a collection of other drawings that you can burry in a time capsule for future generations.
There will be some walking to the museum and pubic art gallery to collect ideas. Parents welcome to come along. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
