This class will combine Level 7 & 8 Biology. You will be able to create your own learning programme supported by Education Perfect, workbooks and individual mentoring. In each lesson, I will be spending about 45min teaching content on a particular topic.

On Tuesdays, I will focus predominantly on Level 8 Biology with content relevant for a particular standard. In 1.1, this will be Human Physiology as we look at:

- Nervous system (Neuroscience)
- Endocrine system (Hormones)
- Temperature regulation
- Blood glucose regulation

There is an internal assessment associated with this content worth 3 credits.

On Thursdays, I will focus predominantly on Level 7 Biology with content relevant for a particular standard. In 1.1, this will be Cell Biology as we look at:

- The similarities and differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells/ animal and plant cells
- How molecules move in and out of cells
- How respiration works (Mitochondria)
- How photosynthesis works (Chloroplasts)

There is an external assessment associated with this content worth 4 credits.

Note that the sessions are designed to be interesting and relevant to all students and will contain information that is helpful for other students too. Whilst you are recommended to work on the standards mentioned above, you can choose to work on other standards during the block as well.
