T1 2016 - Gina's Purple/Gold Reading Group
Students will read with their LA 4 times per week to gain confidence and build fluency and develop skills.
See tasks for the specific skills developed at Purple. They are also reading some early gold books to move into this level.
To Do List:
Read a range of texts.
Use a variety of reading strategies to solve unknown words: read on ⥂, re-read ⥃ , cross check. Look right? Sound right? Make sense?
Give your opinions and predictions.
Make the story more interesting by noticing more print conventions and using voice inflections.
Understand more challenging vocabulary and sentence structures.
Be able to summarise a range of texts.
