Psychology in Context
**ANY STUDENT ENROLLED IN THE COURSE IN 2.2 IS EXPECTED TO HAVE A PROJECT THEY ARE WORKING ON, BASED ON THE CONTENT PREVIOUSLY COVERED IN THIS CLASS. PLEASE SEE RICHARD BEFORE ENROLLING IN THIS COURSE FOR THE FIRST TIME.**
This is a new course, so it might be a little weird. But it may also be quite fun!
It's tagged as Psychology, but if you've ever been in any of my classes before you'll realise that they should all be tagged as Psychology... and English... and Media Studies... (and probably a few other NSFW terms, too)
In this course, we'll examine a bunch of Psychological concepts (in the areas of behaviourism, abnormal psychology and social psychology... at least to begin with!), and see how various texts demonstrate these concepts.*
In terms of assessments, a range of assessment opportunities will be given from the realms of Psychology, English and Media Studies. Students will be expected to have a measure of self-direction in their selection of assessment.
*Some of the texts studied will inevitably be R16 - and some of the topics will inevitably only be suitable for a mature audience! Please keep this in mind before enrolling in the course.
