Lets Get Furious Filmmaking
In 2.2 the National 48 Hours Furious Filmmaking Festival commences at the end of Week 7. We are entering again. City Finalist or Peter Jackson's wildcard choice has ALWAYS been a GOAL... Yes, yes, yes!!! SHOOT. EDIT. SURVIVE!
48 Hour teams will need to be organised. Extra study on specific genres and other elements of the competition will be revised. Teams MUST be organizing staying with your team for some of the competition weekend to film and edit. This is a great way for PARENTS to be involved as the competition weekend is 14th-16th June as teams may need transport, so parents ‘The Time is Here!’
NCEA credits cannot be gained from this competition as the individual needs MORE details in the planning which the 48 Hours does not allow. The actual outcome of this class is that ALL students will learn at least one of the skills needed for the actual production of a movie. SHOOT. EDIT. SURVIVE!
Not to forget our Print Media students can continue to work on completing their NCEA assessments.
There will be NCEA Media Studies credits in all levels offered depending on your specific needs (can discuss NCEA English credits). We will have deadlines to meet as a build up for the yearbook and we will have pieces of work written in time for the school newsletter or other Ao Tawhiti media.
