Getting to know our Ōtākaro River
We extend our understanding of the natural and biophysical world to our doorstep and the Ōtākaro Avon River. Yes, you may get your feet wet! Heading down to the river, we'll undertake a biological investigation from hypothesis to conclusion. Groups will have some choice in what they wish to investigate. For example, whether there is any relationship between stream invertebrates and the width of the riparian margin or whether more invertebrates are found in faster or slower flowing water and more....
You will be expected to work as a group to gather information in the field. However, your final reports will be individually written.
