Carry out a practical physics investigation that leads to a linear mathematical relationship, with direction
Mathematical analysis of data is the key to understanding how all scientific studies, financial analysis and trends are formed. This course is the starting point that will kick start your career across a wide range of analysis disciplines.
Students will collect data relevant to the aim of the investigation over a reasonable range of variables. They will control variables that could have a significant effect on the outcome and use techniques to improve accuracy. They will find a mathematical relationship between the independent and dependent variable and draw a conclusion, justifying the techniques used.
This course is internally assessed by AS 90935 and is worth four credits. In 1.2 I'll offer a similar course at level 2, which is a practical physics investigation that leads to a non-linear mathematical relationship.
