Skills for Yearbooks & Film Festivals
Want to try your hand at journalism?
Do you want to be reporting on sports games, reviewing movies, games or music for newspapers, magazines, radio or television?
Then this is the course for you. This class will look at developing journalism skills by looking at factual writing in interesting ways to capture an audience. Report writing skills are good to have in build up to essay writing in the future. We will begin by writing short news reports for radio, newspaper, television and magazines.
Deadlines will be a must to meet as a build up to the yearbook and we will have pieces of work written in time for the school newsletter and/or other Ao Tawhiti media.
Film-makers remember the 48 Hour Film Festival will be 11-13 May this year. If other Media classes clash then you can choose this class.
There will be NCEA Media Studies credits in all levels offered depending on your specific needs.
