This course covers the fundamental skills required to be a geographer!

Location, location, location. We will be learning how to read maps and describe where places are. Think grid references, points of the compass, and map symbols as well as learning how to interpret maps showing geographic information. There will be opportunities to sketch precis maps, draw field sketches, and interpret photos and cartoons. A focus on statistics will enable us to use and construct graphs and tables to illustrate geographic information. Finally, and importantly, we will get to grips with the geographic concepts which run through the whole geography curriculum.

You will work towards the level one skills and concepts external exam which is worth four credits (numeracy) and is a lot of fun!

You will need a calculator, coloured pencils, a ruler and a device or book for taking notes.
