Social Studies is about making a difference to the world and the people that inhabit it. We will start with the key ideas and concepts used Social Studies. We will use our knowledge to explore how people have taken affirmative action that made a real difference.

Level Five students will look at how they can use their democratic voice in government and in the issues of our time.

Level Six students will undertake studies of human rights and social actions taken by others that have made a difference for communities, nations and internationally.

Social Studies students will have the opportunity to participate in the Rapaki Marae wānanga to experience and explore how the cultural change and conflict that has been experienced. Students will investigate and introduce at their whakapapa / identity.
