Week 6 and 7 will look in detail at cell membranes and how different types of ions and molecules can move across them. This will help you gain an idea of what is going on inside your body when you absorb food, excrete waste products and think or move. It will also teach you how plants can get water from the soil into their roots. This will help you in preparation towards the Cells external (4 credits).

From Week 8 onwards we will then use that knowledge in a practical context in the lab with an investigation (internal, 4 credits).
