Yellow Reading Group Term 4 (HB Kea, Kay)
3-4 guided reading lessons per week where children will develop, extend and use skills and strategies to decode text with fluency. They will learn to ask and answer questions about the text.
To Do List:
Recognise the sounds in words and say the sounds as I stretch out the word.
Recognise high frequency words quickly
Read on to gather more information so I can work out the word.
Check the word looks right, sounds right, makes sense.
Self-correct by rerunning and cross checking, as I think about my reading
Notice word endings
Think about characters, setting and problems
Talk about the story and ask questions
Find the part in the story that tells me....
Make my reading sound interesting by using punctuation
Read the story again, fast and fluent
Identify the strategies I have used
