Mindfulness Term 2, 2018
We have the opportunity to work with the Mindful Movers, two experts trained by Mindful Schools, in three workshops in term 2. In these workshops students will focus on developing mindfulness - the quality of paying attention in an open, balanced and curious way. We will be developing mindful bodies when we engage in led stretches and an awareness of our own bodies, mindful listening focussed on a bell or ambient internal/external sounds, mindful breathing and 'heartfulness'; using intentional thoughts and cultivating positive mind states.
Studies show that learning mindfulness may improve academic learning, mental health and inter- and intra-personal relationships.
