This course is designed to support students with independent inquiries for university entrance and Level 3 NCEA. It is essential that students have an understanding of the goals associated with the learning from term 1 as well as a solid background in the study of history at NCEA Level 2. Students will identify an appropriate topic, design a research plan and collect relevant information in support of an overall driving statement and a number of specific focusing questions. Setting and meeting deadlines and a critical reflection of the research process are also part of this objectives of this course. This course is a pre-requisite for students wishing to be assessed for effective presentation of historic inquiries in term 3 and is 10 weeks in duration.
