2017 term 4 - stage 4 multiplication/division, maths
Students will take part in workshops at least three times a week. They will also have opportunities to reinforce and consolidate learning with independent practise sessions on Prototec and with follow up tasks provided by LA.
We will continue to work to understand with Place Value with games and strategy practise with lots of materials, continue to reinforce bonds to 10 and to 20.
We will focus on multiplication as counting in groups, reinforcing this with skip counting practise and practising saying these facts as multiplication equations. We will be using arrays to develop understandings of what a multiplication equation means and what it looks like as a visual representation. We will use these arrays to think about the relationship between multiplication and division, as well as creating equations from arrays and arrays from equations.
