HB Kiwi Nature Inquiry T4 2017

We will spend lots of time outdoors during the fourth term, making use of our campus' green space while it is still easily available to us (before the move to the new school in 2019).

Through a variety of activities based on nature and the environment the children will come to understand what environments are, what things are in the environment, how to use the environment and how to look after it.

Intro session - what do the kids want to do/know?

Suggestions:
Worm experiment (outside on the grass)
Worms - look at the HB Kiwi worms that we still have from term 1.
Spud in a bucket - Bunnings
Tadpoles - Trademe, $10 for 10.
Pollination (Bees)
Plant a chook food garden
Parts of a plant
Senses - re herbs
Riccarton Bush - museum tour
Continue with the idea of soft-plastics recycling, and setting up that recycling system
Making bags - order from Safepak.co.nz (Calico bags for $1.58)
