In this course we will continue to explore how and why societies oppress certain groups of people. We will study exclusively short story texts from New Zealand and around the world covering issues of race, gender, and class.

Term three will require a fair amount of independent reading both in and out of class (audio books will be made available when possible). This term is focusing on honing those reading, writing, and analysis skills required for external exams but balanced with time to complete Internals where appropriate.
