During this art inquiry we will look at a variety of aspects of art.

These will include:
Drawing
- Sketching
- Cartoon drawing

Painting
- Mark making
- Impressionism
- Landscapes
- Artists study
- Colour
- Light

Maori Art
- Koru/Kowhaiwhai
- Paper mache Ipu (containers)

Light art
- Lanterns (also links with Maori art)
- Luminarium
(these 2 things are part of the arts festival)

Clay

Making things with paper
- Origami
- Pop up cards

Understand the meaning of koru
Create my own kowhaiwhai design
Understand the uses of Ipu
Create my own Ipu
Draw animals or other creatures using cartoon style drawing
Know what Impressionism is and be able to identify the style of painting
Practice mixing paints and mark making
Create a compositional painting in impressionist style
Follow instructions to create a Rama Tuna lantern
Design and make something out of clay
Follow instructions to fold paper and create a pop up card or other 3D paper creation
