Algebra is a branch of mathematics where letters and other general symbols are used to represent numbers and quantities in formulae and equations.
It involves logic, being systematic, problem solving, reasoning and thinking skills.

If you are planning to study Maths, Chemistry or Physics at Level 2 and Level 3 in the future this topic is essential to gain sound foundation knowledge of algebra skills.

All Level 1 maths classes will be focusing on Algebra this term as we have identified this as an essential skill.

This topic is assessed by an NZQA - no technology - 1 hour skills test on September 15th.
